AI built for the CRE teams that act on it.
You own the tools: tailored to your specific data, reports, and needs. The data is parsed and checked, the accounts and line items that need attention are flagged, and the next step is drafted and waiting for you to send.
What we build
Every engagement is scoped to the reports and systems your team already runs. The work falls into five areas.
Workflow automation
The recurring work that fills your team’s week: expense coding, delinquency review, variance write-ups, renewal batches, draw packages, investor reporting. Each one rebuilt so the parsing, the checks, and the first draft of the output are done before anyone sits down to it.
KPIs, analysis, action
Reporting that goes past the metric to the judgment: what moved against underwriting, which accounts and line items need attention this week, and what the person reading it should do about them. Written to be forwarded rather than translated.
AI governance
Rolling a tool out across an organization takes more than the tool: written rules for what data leaves the building, a defined point where a person reviews the output before anyone acts on it, and every figure traceable back to the export it came from.
Team fluency
Most teams have people using AI like a search box and people avoiding it entirely. This brings everyone to competent daily use: what these tools are actually good at, how to ask for something and get a useful answer, and what to check before passing the result on.
Advanced user training
For the people on your team who want to build their own agents, workflows, and automations: spreadsheets whose formulas can be traced back, files named so the shared drive stays usable, testing and debugging before anyone relies on an output, an honest read of the IT risk in the tools they pick, what a run costs, and which parts of a job should be deterministic rather than left to a model.
How it works
-
Step one · Two weeks
A read of the reporting
We go through the reports your team produces and where the hours go. You get a ranked list of what is worth building, with the effort and the owner named.
-
Step two · Fixed fee
Build the first one
The top item on that list, built against a baseline agreed in writing before work starts, with a readout at the end that reports the metric either way.
-
Step three · Retainer
Keep going, or stop
A monthly engagement for the next workflows, governance upkeep, and vendor questions as they come up. Cancellable on notice, and fine to end after step two.
Chris Schmidt · Principal
Chris has spent fifteen years in commercial real estate, working in asset management, underwriting, development, site selection, and construction across a range of asset classes, and he holds a civil engineering degree and an MBA. The tools are built by someone with the domain knowledge to make them useful.
Chris is also an instrument-rated pilot, and the instrument crosscheck, a fundamental technique of flight, informs every engagement and workflow he builds. In the clouds, with no outside reference, the crosscheck is what keeps a pilot safe and on course: each instrument verified against the others, continuously. AI is moving quickly, most of it is unproven, and the mistakes are easy to make and expensive to find. Crosscheck Advisory provides the tools, techniques, and training to adopt it professionally and safely.
Bring one thing your team does every week that you would like action on faster.
